Announcement time...woot!

Not much going on around here today--actually taking some time at the computer after a long day of cleaning house yesterday...and still sneezing from cleaning house...LOL!!! Just two short announcements today, then I am off to play "War" with Big T and then get some LOs done with Shauna's new Christmas kit...woot!!!

So the first announcment is pretty big, for me at least...LOL! I've been chosen to be a member of Monica Evan's Creative Team at Scrap Matters!!! WOOT!!! I am a big fan of templates for LOs and Monica's are great!

I'm so excited...and she has put us straight to work!!! She has a FABULOUS grab bag in the SM Store right now for only $3.00. What a deal! Monica has some fabulous LO's with the kit on her blog, and here is one I made with it:

Also, at the Orchard, it's FARMER'S MARKET!!! There are over 200 items on sale for only $1, including three of my favorites by Pineapple Plantation Designs...SpiroGraffiti, Fancy Pants and Office Romance!

Ok...so that's all for now. Time for a little one-on-one (or I guess, one-on-two...LOL!) with my boys. Hope to be back later with some new LOs for you to see!

Fresh Fruit and my FIRST SPEED SCRAP!!

Ok, so the ladies at the Orchard are simply unbelievable. It's Friday, which means time for Fresh Fruit Fridays and....holy cow! They've outdone themselves. If you don't get the newsletter, go check out their blog to see what is in store. I for one will be grabbing Reindeer Games (and the Flair!) and Mele Kalikimaka and Scenes D'Hiver. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!!

And to top it all off...Kami has a freebie on her blog that goes with Reindeer Games...get it here.

Also--don't forget about the Make It Snappy! Speed Scrap tonight. It's my first time hosting one of these and I'm a little nervous.

Hope you will join us... we'll be in the Make It Snappy! Forum at 7pm EST!

A bit of news...

I know, I know... I need to post more. I try--really I do. Life took over (again) this week and my time on the computer hasn't been all that. I do, however, have some fab news... check this out:
Kami and Jaye asked me to join the fab set of moderators over at the Orchard and...duh....I said yes! I am so pumped!!!! I've been hanging out there since first picking up this new hobby. In fact, they were the first forum that I ever joined! Obviously...over 1,000 posts later...they are my cyberspace home away from home, and I am so excited about being able to have some responsibilities there. Still learning the ropes a bit but loving every bit of it. The girls there are great and I know this is going to be too much fun!!
Oh yeah...and the extra cool part is that about the same time I joined up with the moderators, Kami changed their names from "Caretakers" to "Appletinis". heeheehee..... now anyone who has known me longer than, oh, ten minutes, knows that appletini's are my favorite drink! I tell you, it was just meant to be....LOL!!!
Layout-wise, I have a couple more finished, but will post on them later. It's getting late and I need to go to bed. Wanted to stop in a minute and share my good news, though. Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Three at a time!

Ok, so either I was amazingly efficient last night or time stood still because I actually got three LOs done. Usually, I do one a night and am fighting off sleep to get that finished. I even got caught up on all the "New Posts" at SO, SSS, and AFD. Kids wanted to watch "Old Yeller" (**gag**) and so I just dove into my laptop. Nothing really wrong with the movie, mind you, I just don't like stuff that makes me cry.

Anyhoo...want to see what I did????

First, I finished a challenge a AFD, using a latte mug from Cafe J. Loved using this! It was a really cool template with all-digi and hybrid instructions.

This was also my first "real" attempt at extraction (see his hand in the bottom left corner?). I've been noticing a lot of LOs with this kind of work and loving it. I figured I should stop drooling and start using it myself. The LO uses Cafe J's mug with papers and elements from Lily Designs "White Chocolate". The more I use that kit the more I love it!!

Next, I headed over to Scrapbook Graphics and found a QP Exchange for this week using their Collab Kit "Impressions of Honor". Not sure what the rule is about posting QPs for download, so I won't do that right now, but I will tell you that you still have time for the exchange if you get it done and submitted by the 16th. You can find the challenge forum here. Everyone who submits a quickpage using the kit will get a link sent to them with all the pages in it. Not a bad deal!!

Here is my submission with a old photo from back when hubby was in the Army Reserves...July 2000, when my firstborn was less than a month old. My how time flies...

And last, but not least, I put togther a November desktop using Sweeet's download. Haven't posted this one to the challege, because I sorta feel like I cheated...LOL! All I did was drop the photos in and resize for my laptop. Hardly seems like a challenge...but at least I got it done.

Ok...so I guess that is enough rambling for now. I set a 15-minute timer on myself so I don't get too distracted and sit here all afternoon. Way to much housework to do. Have already made one trip to Goodwill, and I feel several more coming on!!! There is something so refreshing about decluttering!

Until later....

DSD Weekend--the day after

Whew! I'm tired! After a long day of shopping and downloading, I'm ready for a rest....and I still have three kits to grab...sheesh! Then, once all that is finished, I have to start unzipping. Right now, I have 61 sets of zip files that need to be opened...61 sets!!!! Some of those sets have up to 14 individual files on them.

To add to my misery, I have *finally* decided to move all my scrapbooking supplies into PSE6 Organizer for tagging. I may regret that decision....over 14 thousand files were moved, and that doesn't count anything out of the 61 mentioned above. If you don't hear from me for a few days, it means I've probably passed out at the laptop.

Before I go and grab those last files, though, check out this new kit, Amalia, from Armina at Sunshine Studio Scraps. I've been going a little crazy over plum lately (you should see my wardrobe now!) and this kit just screams to be purchased!!

Freebie for my First Post!

Yeah, I know... two blogs?!?!?! There is so much going on in the scrapbooking world that I thought it best to separate it out from my personal blog. You know...because some in digi-world don't really want all the personal, sappy stuff (LOL!) and some in the personal world don't really want to wade through all the "look what's new" announcements.

I'll do my best to keep up with both, but no promises...LOL! I do think that today, Digital Scrapbooking Day would be a good day to kick this new blog off. It's been a big day for me, 'cause I hosted my first-ever challenge! Kami at Scrap Orchard let me host "Angela's Tempate Challenge" and it was a blast! In case you missed it, I decided to put it here, too, so you could grab it. Have fun!
